You just welcomed your first grandchild into the world, a beautiful baby boy. Congratulations, Grandma! What are you most excited to do with your grandson?
Love him. My husband and I have been so blessed with our sons that we are so looking forward to all the stages of our grandson’s life. I want to cuddle with him, read to him, then play on the floor with him and his toys, bake with him. Pinterest has a whole page on science ideas that I want to try with him, soccer and bicycle riding, I am looking forward to all of it. The only thing I am NOT looking forward to is adolescent boy humor.
Between working full-time, helping your husband with your family business, and caring for your family, you are a very busy lady. What is your favorite way to unwind?
Hanging out with my family is one of my favorite things to do. We are so fortunate that our grandson and his family live just 8 miles from us, in Parker. Jim and I enjoy motorcycle riding on back roads, and as our younger son just moved to the Western Slope, we will be doing some trips to Hotchkiss to explore the area where he is living. I enjoy crafting or DIY projects, though I am not necessarily great at it. I also enjoy a light enjoyable book.
If you could only have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Prime Rib, Baked Potatoes with Blue Cheese Dressing and Green Olives, Green Beans, and Chocolate Lava Cake.
You love the social media site Pinterest. This is often where you find your inspiration for DIY (Do It Yourself) projects. Can you tell us about your favorite DIY project to date?
I made about 10 blankets for my grandson, as my sewing skills are VERY rusty I needed something very basic to start with, and the instruction on Pinterest reminded me of all the steps that my mother would have walked me through.
You have been working for SH&J for almost 11 years. What do you love most about your job?
I love talking with our clients. Our clients are fascinating and kind, and I love finding out what is new since the last time we talked and sharing my news. I am so fortunate to have found this position.
